The following are examples of small animal services offered at our clinic.
|
| Xrays – Onsite X-rays allow us to quickly take and examine radiographs to aid in diagnosing illnesses and injuries to our patients. Digital dental X-rays are taken to assist us in diagnosing dental problems. |

Preventive Care - We recommend puppy and kitten vaccinations at 6-8 weeks of age and at three week intervals till 4 months. On their initial visits, puppies and kittens are routinely treated for roundworms. At 4 months we recommend a microscopic examination of a feces sample. Adult dogs and cats are vaccinated annually or every three years depending on their vaccination needs. Other vaccinations and heartworm prevention can be discussed with the doctor. |
|
Laboratory - In-house laboratory tests, include standard blood chemistries and red and white blood cell counts, parvo virus, heartworm infection, giardia, feline leukemia and the feline immunodeficiency virus. In addition, special laboratory blood tests for specific diseases and conditions are sent out to a commercial laboratory, usually with overnight results. EKG readings are transmitted to veterinary cardiologist for diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Surgery – A variety of soft tissue and orthopedic (bone related) surgeries are performed on site. Pre-anesthetic blood testing is available and recommended for aged or debilitated patients. Post operative pain medications are available. |
|
| Laser Surgery - We are pleased to be able to offer many of our surgical procedures using a CO2 laser. A CO2 laser produces a highly focused beam of light that vaporizes the water normally found in cells. The light beam can be highly controlled so that only a thin layer of tissue is removed, leaving the surrounding tissue unaffected. Because of this, patients whose surgeries are performed with a laser have less pain, less bleeding and less swelling than if those surgeries were performed with a traditional scalpel blade. |

Dentistry - Dogs and cats can suffer from dental disease just as humans can. While under anesthesia, the patient’s teeth are cleaned with an ultrasonic scaler, polished and treated with a protective tooth sealant. Cleaning helps prevent gum inflammation, tooth loss and oral pain. Healthy teeth contributes to an overall healthier pet. |

Knowledge and
Communication – The many years of service at our practice has given the staff the experience and knowledge to deal with a variety of animal health issues. We welcome the opportunity to answer questions and make recommendations regarding the care of your pet. |
